CFPB reports 1 case of COVID-19 at 1700 G Street office, employee was last in office on Thursday, December 9

NTEU 335 was notified yesterday that an employee who works primarily in the basement at 1700 G Street has a confirmed case of COVID-19. We received the following details in writing today. Employees who are approved to work from DC offices should have already been notified by CFPB management about the case, and contact tracing has begun.

Please reach out to our Health and Safety Committee at [email protected] with concerns and questions, as we wish our colleague a speedy and full recovery.

The Bureau received notification from a contractor company that one of their employees supporting 1700 G has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the building on Thursday, December 9, 2021. We have determined that on December 9, the individual was primarily in the Basement, the 6th floor vending area and restrooms, and the 4rd floor East side. The individual began feeling unwell on December 9 and tested positive for COVID-19 on December 11. My team has notified those that were deemed to be in “close contact” according to the CDC and communicated to staff that were in the building on December 7-8.

All areas where the individual was have been cleaned regularly and have undergone additional deep cleaning per our protocol. Additionally, my team has verified that the individual and their co-workers on-site followed the Bureau’s layered approach to safety, which includes masking and physical distancing. My team will continue to monitor the situation, but we don’t believe there is further action required by personnel who were in the building earlier this week.

Thanks,
Marty
