SUMMARY: NTEU Chapter 335 fought for and won a five percent raise/bonus combo for three years in-a-row (2017 – 2019).  The employee health insurance benefit also increased.

NTEU Chapter 335 fought for and won a five percent raise/bonus combo for three years in-a-row (2017 – 2019). This was ratified by the members.

The three-year compensation article (PDF), also shown below in scrollable format, includes these terms:

  • 2017 - Base pay raises of 2.3 percent, lump sum payment of 2.7 percent (five percent total raise)
  • 2018 - Base pay raise of 2.6 percent, lump sum payment of 2.4 percent (five percent total raise)
  • 2019 - Base pay raise and lump sum payment to equal 5 percent of the salary using the employment cost index (ECI)
  • No increase in locality pay
  • Employer-paid health insurance supplement increase to $70.00/pay period (from $60/pay period)
  • Streamlined process for individual employees to request a salary review (for pay equity concerns)
  • Upon promotion to a higher grade, the standard increase will be 8.5 percent (it is currently 7.5 percent)

ECI is for total compensation for State and local government workers published by the Federal Government. To illustrate how it is calculated to be five percent of your salary, if ECI were 2.8 percent, then the raise would be 2.8 percent and the lump sum would be 2.2 percent If the ECI were 2.1 percent, then the raise would be 2.1% and the lump sum would be 2.9 percent.
