Pay reset arbitration update

  • We have had 18 days of arbitration during which 190 cases were heard.
  • 43% of employees whose cases went to arbitration received an additional pay increase on top of whatever they earned through the JCC process. (This is not reflective of the total number of wins -- we won some cases that did not result in a pay increase for the employee.)
  • Of the employees who earned a pay increase at arbitration, the average amount of their increase was $15,658. Of all employees who went to arbitration, including those who did not get an increase, the average amount won was $6,793.
  • Each day of hearing cost $3,600, split between NTEU and CFPB. This means NTEU's bill for these arbitrations is $32,400. Of the 18 hearing days, we won total pay increases greater than $32,400 on 10 of those days.
  • The greatest increase won at arbitration for a single employee was $49,000!
  • We won pay increases for 8 employees who previously did not get one through the JCC process.
  • Initial calculations show we won roughly $1.28 million in additional annual pay for Bargaining Unit employees!

Through the arbitration process, we sent a strong message to Management that they can't get away with undervaluing  and underpaying Bargaining Unit employees.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated in or worked on the arbitration effort! The entire reset was a massive group effort and couldn't have happened without your contributions.
